Bangkok night markets are the ideal places to connect travelers with the locals. Every year, Bangkok has more and more new markets around the city, bringing the cuisine and shopping world of Thailand closer to visitors. Here is a list of famous night markets for your upcoming trip.
Rot Fai Train Night Market, Thailand
Rod Fai 1
Rod Fai Market is located in the eastern suburbs of Bangkok with old-fashioned beauty.
Here you will find a lot of items of many years ago from antiques, hippy clothing to decorations. Image courtesy of @fac7orygirl
Rod Fai is more outstanding than other Bangkok night markets but it’s hard to find because the location is hidden behind Seacon Square.
Rod Fai 2
The new Rot Fai market in Ratchada will give visitors a sense of relaxation with antique shops and fast food stores. Moving from the market to the city center is quite convenient as Rod Fai 2 is close to the Cultural Center MRT station.

Siam Gypsy Junction
Siam Gypsy Junction is one of Bangkok’s newest night markets with lots of unique items in vintage styles. Around the market, there are many one-of-a-kind bars. The most prominent of them is the Homeless Bar – built on the side of an old camping van.

The only inconvenience is that pedestrians, motorcyclists, and cyclists are all on the same road, so visitors will not have the opportunity to walk and shop in a comfortable way.
Liab Duan
Liab Duan night market is located far from the city and is also known as “the market along the highway.” Liab Duan sells an abundance of items, but most are… fake goods representing many brands like G-shock and Louis Vuitton.
Besides, it still has unique items to buy at an affordable price Image courtesy of @julicyy
Liab Duan’s parking lot is bumpy and especially difficult to walk in the rainy season, so it’s better to prepare a pair of sandals just in case
Rot Boran
Rot Boran is located near the Liab Duan Market where a variety of booths are decorated.
…and set up on old vans and cars. There is also a peaceful lake nearby, creating a quite romantic and cool shopping atmosphere. At Rot Boran, you can buy second-hand goods like old furniture or even Buddhist amulets. If you intend to shop here, you should bring a bottle of water because there are only a few restaurants and bars in the market.
Asiatique
The Asiatique market will offer you a unique shopping experience with a successful combination of the style of a night market and a large shopping center. From BTS Saphan Taksin, it takes about ten minutes to get to Asiatique. It was once an international commercial port and now is a shopping mall with over 1,500 clothing stores and about 40 restaurants.
The traffic is usually crowded so travelers should use BTS or take a boat instead of taxi. Image courtesy of @karma_chan_men
Major Ratchoyothin Market
The items at Ratchoyothin are basically the same as in Khlong San market but are more modern and trendy. Major Ratchoyothin Market is located in the north of the city, next to Major Ratchoyothin cinema and the IMAX center. So you can watch a movie before your shopping experience. Several cheap shops and eateries can also be found at this market. Guests can take the MRT to Phahonyothin Station then catch a tuk-tuk for the quickest way to Major Ratchoyothin Market.
JJ Green
JJ Green is probably one of the most enjoyable Bangkok night markets because of its unique style that gives it a contrast to the nearby Chatuchak market. JJ Green is a flea market selling both second-hand goods and food & beverages. Its lively atmosphere comes from the combination of unique stalls selling an assortment of items from fashionable clothing, antique furniture, home furnishings, and home decor items… to rare Beatles cassette tapes. JJ Green is also known as the “holy city” of automotive enthusiasts – where you can find old gears, from cars and bicycles.

Tips: Mind the attitude of shopkeepers, some of them are short tempered and do not allow camera usage.
Khlong Lod Night Market
Khlong Lod is a market in Sanam Luang and mainly sells food and used products. The prices are affordable for customers’ souvenir needs. Although it was originally a market for street vendors, the Khlong Lod market is expanding and becoming more and more popular.
Khlong Thom market
Klong Thom was formerly known as the flashlight market because buyers had to use a light to view the goods. The market is a famous trading zone of old furniture and jewelry, and especially crowded on Saturday evenings.
Patpong night market
Patpong is also known as Silom, and is always crowded because of the Go-Go bars are a significant tourist attraction. It is probably the first and most convenient stop when you come to Bangkok. In Silom, you can rent rooms in all types of hotels from budget hotels to high-end hotels.

Tips: Do not forget to bargain before purchasing but stop at the right time to avoid getting shopkeepers annoyed.
Saphan Phut Night Market
One day shopping “achievement” in Saphanphut @tyingyun
Travellers can find several brands of imitation clothing such as Ralph Lauren, Armani, Fred Perry. Goods here are unexpectedly cheap and the store owners are not as open to bargaining as other markets.
Suan Lum Night Market – Ratchada
Suan Lum Night Bazaar Ratchada is located on Ratchada Road, next to Lad Phrao MRT Station. There are about 1,800 stalls and eateries with many kinds of entertainment. Suan Lum is also equipped with a new 800-room hotel – the Bazaar Hotel.
Silom Walking Street
Silom Walking Street is one of the most famous streets in Bangkok.
The space here is mainly for pedestrians along with hundreds of shops and eateries. @thananpatch66
Silom serves traditional Thai dishes as well as international favorites such as pizza, baked goods, and barbecue. In addition, it usually has street performances and traditional Thai dances.
Sukhumvit night market
There are many shopping centers on the edge of the streets of Nana as part of Little Arabia with many Arab businesses. The booths sell counterfeit branded goods such as clothing, bags, jewelry, DVDs, CDs, and also Western-style items. Sukhumvit is also an ideal destination to buy souvenirs for friends and family.
Chatuchak Friday Night Market
Chatuchak Friday Market is crowded every weekend and travelers can come here on Fridays. Normally, fewer people will come to the market on Saturdays and Sundays. The market space is quite large with shops, eateries, and bars
Chatuchak is the market of… everything @rngnese
located on the main avenue, attracing a lot of students from the surrounding universities.
Most of the goods at Bangkok night markets are well priced with acceptable quality in line with the shopping needs of many tourists. Always be mindful to choose the best market for your own preferences, travel time, and budget. Enjoy your next trip to Bangkok!
